(and yourself)
Eco-therapy might be for you if...
-
Talk therapy hasn't been working for you
You've tried and tried but haven't found the success you want with sitting in a box and talking about the same stuff over and over again
-
You want a decolonized approach to your healing and wellness
Connecting back to the land, and back to yourself in nature, is one of the oldest and most proven ways of finding whole-self healing
-
It feels good to be in nature but you don't know how to make it therapeutic
With support from trained therapists, wilderness experts, and guides, you can access the therapeutic side of nature with ease
Whether you are a pro-camper or an eco-beginner,
Emberwood is for you!
Our retreats focus on finding rest, peace, and wellness in nature — not conquering or surviving it. This experience is customizable and supported to be precisely what you need.
We have designed our retreats to be ‘challenge by choice.’ Activities are invitational, not mandatory, and we tailor everything to you. We equip you with all the practical and psychological skills you need to leave a retreat feeling like you have met your hopes for what you wanted to gain from your outside experience.
Our 2-day and 3.5-day retreats (affectionately called ‘solos’) are designed to:
Return your body to its natural rhythms and ways of being
Teach you eco-therapeutic skills to relax
Take time for yourself and your inner life
Increase your ability to notice and feel joy
Integrate solitude and nature-based practices into your daily life to experience ongoing wellness benefits
A ‘solo’ is intentional time in solitude in nature. A solo is an opportunity to re-attune to your body sensations and your authentic self. Solitude is not loneliness - you’ll feel more connected to yourself and nature during your solo.
You’ll gain basic outdoor skills, experience the beauty of nature in a deep way, feel present and ‘at core,’ meet yourself again, and learn some new eco-therapy techniques to feel safe and happy outside and in your daily life.
“What exactly is a solo?”
All solos are excellent for beginners and avid outdoorsfolk alike. These are supported trips: most meals are provided around the campfire, and experienced guides are there every step of the way. There is a gentle balance of community time and solitude.
Lodge is held in cooler months. It has one preparation night pre-trip and 2 sleeps on the trip in cozy warm cabins. Overall vibe: silent retreat with nature walks.
Nest is held in the fall when weather is ideal for outdoor comfort. It has many preparation gatherings pre-trip and 1 sleep on the trip in a shelter or tent. Overall vibe: it really varies from person to person but this experience is often a life changing event. Frequently folks are drawn to this and don’t know why - trust that feeling.
Mini-retreats are an amazing opportunity to test the waters, check out our vibe, and see what eco-therapy can do for you!
