All year. Begins November.
Solitude Collective
For gentle and curious weirdos, people-pleasers, and the devoted. Solitude Collective gives you three dedicated times - each month - where boundaries are built, new patterns emerge, and the experience of solitude is never lonely.
The Collective is for you if…
Finding dedicated time for journalling, reflecting, and exploring your inner world keeps falling to the bottom of the list
Solitude gets lonely fast - suddenly you are deep cleaning, a podcast is on, and you are back to doom scrolling.
You love the person you are when you are grounded and present, but it seems impossible to sustain that amidst all the chaos
You know that if nothing changes, you’ll keep saying yes to things you actually want to say no to, you’ll find yourself fixing everyone else and you’ll still feel lost.
“The really powerful thing for me is the lack of expectation. It’s just space to play in.”
“I’m so calm. The calmest I’ve been in years.”
“I greatly enjoyed having dedicated and focused time for self-connection and self-exploration while being simultaneously grounded in a warm and welcoming community space.”
Our Monthly Collective Rhythm
-
✺
Co-learning Workshops
So that you can learn new solitude skills, ask questions, muse, and get new angles on your life
-
✺
Nature Therapy Solo
So that you drop out of fight or flight to explore your inner world, ask questions and receive answers from yourself
-
✺
Labyrinth Walks
So that you have a routine time for integration and quiet self-reflection
As the monthly rhythm settles, so will your nervous system. You’ll arrive, tuck your phone away, make yourself a cup of tea and start to be present with yourself.
It doesn’t take long, solitude starts to be a gentle companion: your journal pages fill up, you get more clear on who you are and what you want, boundaries emerge, you feel lighter and more at home in yourself.
Your feelings are no longer something to dread but now precious nuggets of information.
You leave each session more grounded than you arrived and feel a steady, gentle energy moving you into the week ahead.
After a few months, you notice the ease of feeling grounded, feeling your feelings is just part of the daily rhythm, and you trust yourself and your body.

The Nitty Gritty
-
Folks in Solitude Collective already have their foundational Solitude Therapy skills from attending the Emberwood trip called Little Lodge.
Join one of the many Little Lodge trips offered each year.
[Note: for the first November 2025 intake cohort only, chat with us about a prereq alternative IF you have attended another Emberwood overnight trip.]
-
WHEN
The first 3 Sunday afternoons each month in person. 4:00 - 6:00 PMWHERE
The Emberwood space in south Edmonton, and its nearby creek, Big Bear Park. Year-end trip at Narrow Lake, Alberta. -
About 90% of our participants are 2SLGBTQIA+. However, we find it's more about being queer as an outlook on life.
So, whether you're straight, bi, disabled, BIPOC, reclaiming fatness, or neurodivergent, Emberwood really vibes with all people who like to trust their intuition, think outside the cultural norm, love learning deeply about themselves, and find meaning in the world.
Scientifically-backed woo-woo - we’re here for it!
-
If you’re craving depth and getting real with your inner work, this is for you.
You’re also welcome to approach the Emberwood team, we love a chat about what’s-next & what’s-best for folks.
You’ll also know on Little Lodge - the prerequisite trip. If you loved the vibe of your Emberwood trip and want take this learning deeper, and weekly, Solitude Collective is a good fit.
-
Haahah yep - you know us! We will get you out there monthly in all seasons. And, as usual, you can borrow gear and clothes.
We will not be outside every week, but definitely once a month.
-
We expect folks will miss a few sessions over the year. No worries, we accounted for this, and the month has a theme, so you won’t miss any concept entirely.
You can feel confident to give Solitude Collective a go. If you try it for a few Sundays and it’s not a good fit for you or for us, we will finish off payment with you for that month, and then stop any future payments.
Plus, life happens! If a crisis happens and you need to step back for the rest of the program, same thing - we will complete payment for that month, then you can step back.
In both cases, we will invoice you for the site fees and hard costs we incurred for holding a cabin for you at Narrow Lake.
-
Well, it will and it won’t, but in a good way. Let me explain.
Yes, it will really help that this is booked into your calendar. Absolutely.
But we don’t want this to become one more guilt-riddled task you avoid. No more “I can’t go back to physio ever again cause I never did my exercises,” no more “I must not be making progress in therapy because I didn’t do the homework she assigned.”
This is not that.
Come when you come. Do what you do. Yes, we are going to work hard. But Emberwood is invitational. You are an adult. We aren’t the therapist - nature is. It’s not about doing things for others anymore - it’s about doing it for yourself because it’s joyful and you like it. No more guilt or fear as motivation.
We’ll show you how to get to this juicy place. You’ll like it here.
-
Anytime!
We have a rolling entry, so YOUR year begins when you do. We’ll get you going at the beginning of the next month.
If you join now, the first group, the program begins for the first time at the beginning of November.
Join us.
Finally find the time and space for your inner voice.
“Because of who I am and what I do, there’s always this focus on others. I am so quick to attune to other people’s needs, wants, vibes, energies, etc., and often don’t have the capacity to look inward. I thought I was doing well with self-care and fun, but a lot of these activities were actually task-oriented in hindsight. I tried ecotherapy over the weekend, and I got really comfortable (or uncomfortable) with my feelings. I was able to be just me without any social expectations, go forest bathing, spend solitude in nature, and practice trusting my gut. I am still recovering from the trip, but I plan to ritualize creative solitude in my day-to-day so I can be there for myself, too.”
-JeeHye
“While breakthroughs are important and thrilling, it’s the subsequent stabilization and integration of the breakthrough into daily life that really allows the changes to be permanent.”
— Gay Hendricks
Sustained knowing. Major shifts.
No more performing - the real you again.
The experts you know and love:
Hiya old pals. I am honoured to get to walk along side you for your year answers. We will get to go so much deeper on topics that have really changed my life - it is that depth and breadth I’m really looking forward to.
-Fergus
This modality lets me be in touch with - and enjoy - my inner world, which is something I believe all people deserve. We don't have to be scared of who we are or what we want.
